NAVAL, Biliran – Three barangays in poblacion Naval in Biliran province conducted a one-day workshop on Participatory Situation Analysis (PSA) on Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan – Comprehensive Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) on Sunday, October 9 in their respective barangay halls.
The barangays were identified as Brgy. P. I. Garcia, Barangay Smo. Rosario and Brgy. Sto. Niño, all of Poblacion Naval.
The participants to the workshop were KALAHI-CIDSS volunteers, barangay health workers (BHWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).
In Brgy. P. I. Garcia, Laura Jamin, one of the KALAHI-CIDSS community facilitators, informed that the output of the workshop will be used during the barangay assembly set today, Monday, October 10 in the three barangays.
She said, the workshop outputs will guide the assembly participants in identifying the livelihood projects and other activities that they would like to engage to improve their living standards.
Likewise, the outputs will help KALAHI-CIDSS implementors in identifying programs, projects and activities intended for the KALAHI-CIDSS beneficiaries.
The three barangays in poblacion Naval will hold their barangay assemblies this afternoon in different time, with Brgy. Sto. Niño being the last to hold their barangay assembly at 7:00 o’clock tonight , according to barangay captain Zenia Sabonsolin.
Based on the guidelines set by the implementers of KALAHI-CIDSS, at least 80% of the total number of households must attend the barangay assembly.
Brgy. P.I. Garcia has 989 households while Brgy. Smo. Rosario has 409 households and Brgy. Sto. Niño with 537 households.
KALAHI-CIDSS is a community delivery development project implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Under KALAHI-CIDSS, the community and the local government units (LGUs) are trained to choose, design and implement sub-projects that address their most pressing needs. (FJ/PIA 8 Biliran)
