Caibiran, Biliran— A Punong Barangay in one of the villages of this town was arrested by the local police and CIDG Provincial Field Unit in a joint intel-driven Manhunt Charlie operation 1:05 in the afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in Brgy. Palanay, here.

The accused was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest dated October 25, 2022 issued by Hon. Constantino Faller Esber, Presiding Judge of 8th Judicial Region, RTC, Branch 37, Caibiran, Biliran for Violation of RA 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt practices Act Sec. 3) paragraph (f) docketed under Criminal Cases No. CB-22-985, CB-22-986, CB-22-987, CB-22-988 with recommended bail bond of Php 45,000.00 each for his temporary liberty.
It was not known who was the complainant of the case against the Punong Baranay but paragraph (f) of Sec 3,of RA 3019 specified about “Neglecting or refusing, after due demand or request, without sufficient justification, to act within a reasonable time on any matter pending before him for the purpose of obtaining, directly or indirectly, from any person interested in the matter some pecuniary or material benefit or advantage, or for the purpose of favoring his own interest or giving undue advantage in favor of or discriminating against any other interested party.”
In a post Biliran Provincial Police Office Director Police Col Felix G. Gervacio Jr, commends the operating troops for the arrest of the suspect for their relentless efforts to put wanted persons behind bars and to finally eradicate all forms of lawlessness in the Province.
“This notable accomplishment is in line with the “MKK=K (Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran), the peace and security framework of Chief, PNP thrust,” Col Gervacio Jr., pointed out.
