Shooters in Robes

Cassocks may be the proper term for it, but yes – there are priests in the ranks of the Philippine Practical Shooting Association.
They may have gotten their inspiration from the life and times of St. Gabriel Posentti or perhaps from one of the local movies depicting a man of the cloth who took up arms in order to save his flock from evildoers (if it was not Fernando Poe, Jr., then it must be Eddie Garcia). But maybe – just maybe they took up the sport of practical shooting much like any other responsible person – to improve their firearm handling skills and for the thrill of the competition.
The ‘shooting priests’ featured in these pages are but a few spiritual leaders of their respective communities who engage in practical shooting as their chosen sport. Nothing egoistic or evil about it – their presence in the firing range simply proves that practical shooting is a fast-rising, mainstream sport activity!
