It Was A Busy 8:30 Morning, When An Old Gentleman
In His 80's, Arrive To Have Stitches Remove
From His Thumb, He Said He Is In A Hurry For He Has
Another Appointment At 9:00 Am This Morning
I Took His Vital Signs And Had Him Take A Seat
Knowing It Would Be An Hour Before Someone
Would To Be Able See Him.
I Saw Him Looking At His Watch A Bit Upset
Since I Was Not Too Busy With Other Patient
I Would Evaluate His Wound
It Was Well Heald, So I Talk To The Doctor
Got The Needed Supplies To Remove His Sutures
And Redress His Wound. While Taking Care
Of Him, I Ask Him What Other Appointment
He Has That Make Him Such A Hurry
He Answered That He Need To Be In The
Nursing Home Every Morning To Have
Breakfast Together With His Wife
He Did It For Quite Sometimes Now.
His Wife Is A Victim Of Alzheimer Disease
And Dont Even Know Or Recognize Who He Was
For 5 Years Now.
I Ask Him Why He Still Going There Every
Morning To Have Breakfast With Her Wife
When She Doesnt Know Him Anymore
He Smiled And Patted My Hand And Said
She Doesnt Know Me But I Always Know
Who My Wife Is.
I Have To Hold Back My TeARS When
He Left, I Have Goose Bumps In My Arm
And Thought That Is The Kind Of Love I Want
In My Life..True Love Is Neither Physical Nor Romantic
True Love Is An Acceptance Of All That Is Has Been
Will Be And Will Not Be. The Happiest People
Dont Necessarily Have The Best Of Everything
They Just Know How To Make The Best Of Everything They
