Shrine of our lady of peace and good voyage.
The present church was the result of a renovation of the old and simple structure funded by donations from parishioners and friends. Roman Catholicism is considered minority in Almeria, as the Aglipayan faith has taken roots in 1905.
There are two historical accounts that the arrival of the Aglipayan priest resulted from or was the cause of the transfer of municipal government of Almeria to Barrio Kawayan from 1907 until 1948 when it regained its status as a town.
