Naval, Biliran (31) — With the theme “Kilos Sambayanan, Krimen ay Hadlangan”, NAPOLCOM-Biliran Provincial Director Atty. Lolita-Casas Nueve urged the members in the community to be actively involved in the prevention of crime.
This was the strong appeal made by the Napolcom chief in Biliran province to all the people in the province during today’s Kapihan sa PIA forum over Radyo Natin-Naval.
The radio guesting of Atty. Casas-Nueve together with Police Inspector Asesclo A. Talaugon, Chief of Police of Biliran town was part of the various activities lined-up in relation to the Crime Prevention Week celebration beginning tomorrow, September 1 until September 7, where the whole month of September is also declared as the National Crime Prevention Month.
Atty Casas-Nueve said that the police community and other law enforcement agencies will hang streamers starting tomorrow in their repective offices as part of the advocacy campaign.
She added that topic pertaining to drug addiction, cyber safety and sexual abuse will be the topic to be presented and discussed in a series of pulong-pulong and symposia that will be conducted in the eight towns of the province to include the schools where students are most vulnerable to commit crimes and in most cases a victim to crimes related drug addiction and sexual abuse.
The Napolcom chief also warned the public in the appropriate use and proper disposition in the utilization of modern information technology like the prevalent use of internet especially on Filipina chat users who wanted to find a mate in foreign land to be extra careful in selecting a partner to avoid selecting a bad one which might come out one day as a liability to the community.
Atty. Casas-Nueve likewise encouraged the members of the church and other socio civic organizations to help in the crusade of the law enforcement agencies in the prevention of criminal activities in the community.
She also advised Biliranons to get away with crimes in order to live a peaceful and a productive life.
