Desiree Brigette E. Balatero, a senior high school student of Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) was chosen as Miss Palaro 2008 1st Runner-Up, held in Puerto Prinsesa Palawan last April 5, 2008.
Ms. Balatero also won several special awards like the best in sportswear and Miss Photogenic.
