Naval, Biliran (9 January) – In his short but substantial message during the turn-over ceremony here today, the newly installed Provincial Director of the Biliran Provincial Police Office (BPPO) vowed to serve and protect the province of Biliran.
Police Senior Superintendent Leonardo Cesneros stressed that his job as the chief of the BPPO is to perform the mission of the Philippine National Police (PNP) which is to enforce the law, to protect and serve the people and to maintain peace and order.
The new BPPO chief who will turn 45 years old in January 16 strongly appealed to the local officials and the Biliranons for their active support and emphasized he cannot not do it alone since his job entails a big task and a big responsibility.
However, he assured that he will do his best and even promised to make the BPPO the best provincial police office in region 8 with the help of the personnel of the provincial police unit.
In an a brief talk with some members of the Biliran media after the ceremony, the newly installed PD who was also the resident ombudsman of the Police Regional Office No. 8 confided that he will not serve the interest of anybody or any political camp since he is assigned in the province of Biiran to serve and protect its people.
“I will just perform my job in accordance with the PNP mission”, Cesneros answered when asked if somebody will exert political pressure to do something not in line with the PNP mission and policies.
He added that he will not put in a bad light his 25 years of service as a police officer since it is still a very long way to go in his promising career before retirement. (PIA-Biliran)
