TACLOBAN CITY – The regional office of the Department of Agriculture here in line with the GMA High Value Crops Program (GMAHVCP) and in cooperation with the Local Government of Unit (LGU) of the province of Biliran will launch trading post and Barangay Bagsakan in Naval, Biliran on Oct 9.
This trading post which will be located near the provincial capitol is a mini-market of a small trading center open for all traders in Biliran, especially to farmers who sell their agricultural products.
Dr. Veronica Berenguer, high value crops coordinator, said that their office uploaded P375,000 for this trading center that will sell directly agricultural products and others to traders to minimize rising prices and for the consumers to buy cheaper product.
“This post will also be favorable to the tourism industry of Biliran wherein they can buy souvenir items or pasalubong there,” Berenguer said.
“Parang this time seguro nagencourage pa sila ng mga processors ng tarts mga candies doon to display their products that is already the intervention of barangay bagsakan team to display their products in the trading post,”Berenguer added.
