NAVAL, Biliran – The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Biliran joins with the rest of the DepEd school divisions and regional offices nationwide in highlighting the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, the national hero of the country with a simultaneous National Fun Run for Education on Sunday, June 19, 2011.
In a letter-invitation sent by Dr. Pedro Escobarte, Jr., Schools Division Superintendent of Biliran to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Biliran Provincial Information Center, he informed that in the division of Biliran, the Fun Run for Education with a theme “Every Runner, A Finisher; Every Finisher, A Winner” will start at the provincial capitol grounds in Barangay Calumpang, Naval as the assembly area at 6:00 o’clock in the morning.
He added that the Fun Run for Education will pass through the main thoroughfares of he pobalcion Naval until the Philippine Posts Authority (PPA) Grounds at the Naval port area as the finish line.
For his part, Dr. Jose Mondido, DepEd-Biliran Education Supervisor for Music, Arts and Physical Education (MAPE) and Sports said that the activity will be purely a fun run as there is no more program at the end of the activity.
He added that in the Division of Biliran, the DepEd officials headed by Dr. Escobarte agreed that other than the municipality of Naval which is the capital town of the province and where the office of the DepEd in Biliran is situated, each of the eight municipalities in the division of Biliran will hold its own Fun Run for Education early morning on Sunday, June 19.
He added that the Fun Run for Education in the division of Biliran will be joined in by the local officials to include the mayors, vice-mayors, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members and barangay officials.
Officials and employees of partner agencies in the national government and in the private sector are also invited to participate in the Fun Run for Education.
Likewise, he said, in the municipality of Naval, school heads, teachers and students of the North and South districts will also be participating in the activity.
Dr. Mondido added that they will also be inviting the participation of the Naval State University (NSU) in Naval, Biliran.
He said, the general public is likewise invited to join in the fun run.
“The Fun Run for Education aims to provide an opportunity for community stakeholders to unite and manifest love of country through concern for education,” he said. (FEJ/PIA 8 Biliran)

Lain pa diha ang 5 pesos para sa tubig ug laing 5 para sa koryente.
Ang ilang supervisors, sige’g pasabot sa publiko nga wala nay mga koleksyon sa mga eskwela gawas lang sa boy scout ug ambot unsa pa to.
Sir Escobarte, naa ba’y simenar ning imong mga teachers sa Caraycaray?
Ayaw na lang mo ingon nga wa na’y koleksyon kung mauhon na aron di na maglaom kaming mga ginikanan.
