NAVAL, Biliran – Some 200 Navaleños of various ages availed of the free anti-flu vaccination from the PhiliHealth Office in Biliran province on Saturday, June 25, 2011.

This was learned from Arlan Granali, provincial officer of PhilHealth in the province of Biliran.

He said, the giving of the anti-flu vaccination to some 200 walk-in individuals was part of the activities of the PhilHealth Sabado II on June 25 wherein parents of school children in the elementary schools belonging to the poor income bracket were enrolled with PhilHealth.

He added that the administration of the anti-flu vaccines in Biliran was conducted in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH), Biliran Provincial Office.

Assisting in the free vaccination of walk-in beneficiaries was Dr. Joyce Caneja of the Biliran Provincial Hospital who went to the office of PhilHealth at corner Castin and Caneja Sts., Naval, Biliran to administer the vaccine.

Granali added that the anti-flu vaccination was just timely so that the beneficiaries of the activity will be protected from getting sick with flue since the rainy season starts in June until the late months of 2011. (eopt/FEJ/PIA 8 Biliran)
