NAVAL, Biliran – The Land Transportation Office (LTO), Biliran Provincial Office is calling the attention of jeepney operators and drivers who are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pasada Program but have not yet claimed their smart card to get the said card at the LTO-Bilrian office located at Barangay Calumpang, Naval.

The call was made by Ms. Grace M. Carsido after some beneficiaries of the program in the province of Biliran failed to claim their cards for several weeks now since the cards were sent by the Department of Energy (DOE) in Manila to LTO-Biliran inspite of reminders aired over the local radio station.

She said, there are only 24 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pasa in the province of Biliran including areas in Leyte, Leyte and Calubain which are under the area coverage of LTO-Biliran.

Out of this number, Carsido said that 14 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pasada have yet to claim their cards.

The Pantawid Pasada card entitles the beneficiary to a one-time release of the P1,050 worth of fuel which is available in participating gasoline stations declared as redemption station by the DOE.

The Pantawid Pasada is one of the programs of President Aquino aimed at helping operators and drivers cushion the impact of the increase in price of oil in the world market.

The program is implemented by the DOE and the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) in coordination with the LTO and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). (FEJ/PIA 8 Biliran)
