Some 10 members of the BDS attended to the teeth extraction of the dental patients which was conducted inside the mobile clinic of the provincial government of Biliran through Governor Gerardo Espina, Jr. and Congressman Rogelio Espina of the lone district of Biliran. The mobile clinic was stationed at the Naval municipal grounds for the convenience of the patients.

In an interview with Dr. Kho, she said the free dental mission conducted yesterday by the BDS was just the beginning of more free dental missions they will conduct in the entire province of Biliran in the months ahead.

She informed that the officials and members of the BDS have been actively conducting school visitations since early part of this year until now to conduct lectures to elementary grades pupils on proper care of the teeth, oral hygiene and proper brushing of the teeth.

She said, during their school visitations, the distribution of free toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash to school children was part of the activity.

The half-day dental mission conducted by the BDS on September 5, 2011 gained appreciation from the dental patients and some parents whose children availed of the free dental mission saying they were saved from the expensive cost of tooth extraction when they go to a private dental clinic.

The BDS is one of the most active private organizations of professionals in the province of Biliran giving service to the Biliranons for free. (FEJ/PIA 8 Biliran)
