NAVAL, Biliran – Joint elements of Special Operation Team (SOT) of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Region 8 arrested on Thursday morning (July 5) in his residence in Barangay P.I. Garcia, Caneja Street, this town, a certain Bryan P. Zamora, a 29 year old Navaleño.
The 11-man team from CIDG-8 led by Police Chief Inspectors Wilfredo R. Abordo and Teodulo A. Armada entered the residence of Zamora at around 7:00 in the morning with search warrant number CN-35 issued by Executive Judge Crescente F. Maraya, Jr. of the Regional Trail Court (RTC) Branch 11 in Calubian, Leyte on July 3, 2012 for violation of P.D. 1866 as amended by RA 8294 otherwise known as illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions.
In an accomplishment report on “Oplan Paglalansag and Oplan Big Berta” regarding the implementation of search warrant number CN-35 against Bryan Zamora prepared by Police Superintendent Mafelino A. Bazar, head CIDG-8 for the CIDG director in Camp Crame, Quezon City, the confiscated evidences which were subject of the search warrant were as follows: one (1) magazine assembly for caliber 45 pistol; seven (7) live ammunitions for caliber 45 pistol; one (1) unit caliber 45 pistol COLT M11911 SN: 835927; three (3) units magazine assembly for M16 rifle (Airsoft); one (1) unit M16 rifle (Airsoft)and seven (7) pieces live ammunitions for magnum 22.
It was also reflected in the CIDG report that the evidences confiscated which were subject of incidental search were as follows: one (1) unit caliber 38 revolver with SN: 894546; five (5) live ammunitions for caliber 38 pistol; one (1) cellular phone, NOKIA 2730 with SN: 355931047396376; one (1) improvised tooter; one (1) improvised boiler; one (1) transparent cellophane containing white crystalline suspected to be shabu; one (1) scissor; one (1) fragmentation hand grenade apple-type; two (2) heat sealed plastic large sachet containing suspected shabu; two (2) heat sealed plastic medium sachet containing suspected shabu; fifteen (15) heat sealed plastic large sachet containing suspected shabu; three (3) empty heat sealed plastic small sachet; eight (8) pieces lighters; and two (2) small plastic containers or receptacle, colored black and violet.
Also arrested during the search in Zamora’s house were Robert R. Quizon, 31 years old and a resident of P.I. Garcia, Caneja St., Naval, Biliran and Jack P. Nazario, 34 years old and a resident of Brgy Atipolo, Naval, Biliran while they were inside the premises of Bryan Zamora in act of using methamphetamine hydrochloride (pot-session), as stated in the CIDG report.
Suspects are now detained and cases for violations of RA 8294 AND RA 9165 were prepared for inquest proceedings, the report added. (rvictoria/PIA 8 Biliran)
