NAVAL, Biliran – The celebration of the 18th anniversary of the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) in Biliran province was made more meaningful as the representative of the lone district of Biliran publicly announced the P1.5 worth of scholarships and equipment for Cabucgayan National School of Arts and Trades (CNSAT), the only accredited TESDA school in the province.

TESDA celebrated its 18th anniversary in Biliran province in the school campus of the CNSAT on August 23-24, 2012 which was centered on the theme: TESDA @ 18: ”Akmang Pagsasanay Tungo sa Tagumpay”.

Biliran Congressman Rogelio J. Espina informed in his anniversary message that he allocated P500,000 worth of equipment to be used in enhancing the technical skills, knowledge, capabilities and competencies of the tech-voc students enrolled in CNSAT located in Cabucgayan, Biliran.

Congressman Espina said that he allocated P500, 000 from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) to buy the much needed equipment like washing machines, power hacksaw, pedestal grinder, heavy duty gas range, 10 cubic ft. refrigerator, upright chiller, electric oven wine chiller, laptops, LCD projector and electrical equipment.

The procurement of the equipment was promised by Congressman Espina to Lino Severino, vocational school administrator III, TESDA-CNSAT, during the family day of the TESDA-PDAF scholars on July 20, 2012 held in TESDA- CNSAT campus in Cabucgayan, Biliran.

Another big announcement made by the first-termer Biliran solon was the allocation of P1M from his PDAF for the enrollment of additional scholars under his Congressman Espina TESDA-PDAF scholarship program in TESDA-CNSAT.

Congressman Espina also made promise during the TESDA-CNSAT Family Day to double the number of scholars in Biliran province who can avail of his scholarship program in TESDA-CNSAT.

He also allocated the amount of P154, 310 from his PDAF for the procurement of equipment to be used by the high school students of the Cabucgayan National Vocational High School in Cabucgayan, Biliran. These equipment include heavy duty refrigerator, gas range, multi-function oven and stainless working tables.

Meanwhile, Congressman Espina reminded the TESDA-PDAF scholars to continue their good dreams, never quit and lose hope but instead encourage to become part of the productive citizen of the country.(PIA 8 Biliran)
