NAVAL, Biliran, February – The Philippine National Police (PNP)-Biliran Police Provincial Office headed by PS/Superintendent Felix Alberca Diloy is intensifying its Police Patrol System in the province as part of their role in the forthcoming May, 2013 elections.

This was revealed by PS/Supt. Diloy in his briefing on the Peace and Order Updates and security preparations for the May, 2013 mid-term elections on the occasion of the one-day General Conference with Comelec Deputies on Friday, February 15 at the AV Hall of the Naval State University (NSU) in Naval, Biliran.

He informed that checkpoints have been set-up in strategic points in Biliran province which are manned by a team from the PNP, Comelec and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to monitor movements of people coming in and going out of the province.

He added that police visibility in the province has been strengthened as team of policemen are stationed in strategic places in each of the eight municipalities provincewide to monitor the peace and order in the area where they are assigned.

The campaign of PNP-BPPO requiring owners of firearms to renew the registration and to those who have not registered their firearms is on-going, he said.

PS/Supt Diloy ended his briefing by saying, “we need to coordinate closely, let’s work hand in hand to secure our ballots”.

The one-day general conference with Comelec was attended by nearly 200 officials and representatives of sectors in the province who were deputized to assist Comelec-Biliran in the various activities in connection with the electoral polls in May, 2013. (PIA 8 Biliran)
