NAVAL, Biliran – In order to disseminate the results of the survey conducted by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) in Biliran province in 012 to the officers and members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC), a gathering has been set by the Biliran Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Friday, March 15 at 8:30 in the morning at the Biliran PHO conference hall.
According to Dr. Alfonso Veneracion, Provincial Health Officer of Biliran who is also the Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO), the survey results on nutrition will be the basis for an improved and successful implementation of the nutrition program in the province this year, thus achieving the goal of the PHO in reducing malnutrition in the province.
Aside from the presentation of the FNRI results to the officers and members of the PNC, the setting up schedule of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Program Implementation (MELLPI) for 2013 will also be discussed.
The review and revision of the provincial Philippine Plan of Action on Nutrition (PPAN) for the year 2012-2014 will also form part of what will be discussed during the meeting.
During the gathering of the PNC, the feedback on the feeding activity conducted by the PHO in the eight municipalities of the province through the municipal health offices provincewide will be discussed, results of which will be the basis to improve future feeding programs that will be undertaken in the province to improve the nutritional status of pre-school children.
