NAVAL, Biliran – With barely more than two months to election day, Atty. Sabino Mejarito, Provincial Election Supervisor (PES), called on all COMELEC deputies in the provoince of Biliran to convene for the second time on Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Nipa Hut, Capitol Site, Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, to ensure Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE).

Atty. Mejarito stressed that this is not the last time he will be calling the Comelec deputies to a meeting for he wants to assure Biliranons of an Honest, Orderly, and Peaceful Elections (HOPE) in the entire province come May 13, 2013, national and local elections.

This Friday’s meeting will focus on the assessment of election preparations including the compliance on various election laws as COMELEC deputies; assignment of election duties and responsibilities; creation of the Provincial Election Monitoring Action Center (PEMAC); and security preparations of the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) and their deputy PNP/Army.

In the first meeting with the COMELEC deputies, Atty. Mejarito solicited the cooperation of all to achieve HOPE.

The COMELEC deputies in Biliran province include the DILG, DepEd, PNP, PIA, DPWH, CSC, DENR, DAR, BIR, PPCRV, Philippine Army, Provincial Treasurer, Provincial Prosecutor, Land Bank of the Philippines, and Philippine Ports Authority. # (PIA8 Biliran)
