A foreign cargo vessel ran aground at an island on Biliran Thursday night, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Friday.
In its 6 p.m. report, the NDRRMC said the vessel – MV Unicorn Lodger of Wisdom Lines – ran aground at Sambauan Island in Maripipi town in Biliran at 8 p.m. last June 13.
The NDRRMC said the Coast Guard checked the area Friday morning for signs of an oil spill and found none.
A further check showed the ship’s crew included 18 Vietnamese, including:

The Coast Guard, local government and local police in Maripipi held an investigation and inspection of the site.
