NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) – In line with the conduct of the 1st Provincial Student Leaders Congress (PSLC) on March 15-16, 2014, the 200 student leaders who attended the congress rallied for environmental conservation and preservation thru Environmental Walk and Coastal Clean-up Drive on March 16.

The activity was conducted to promote the importance of the environment and the role of the youth in the protection and conservation of a sustainable environment.

Student leaders walked from the Naval State University (NSU), the venue of the two-day congress heading towards Brgy. Sto. Nino, Naval, Biliran, the location for the coastal clean-up drive.

Spearheaded by the PSLC Organizing Team and the People Who Understand and Love Science Enigma (PULSE), participants cleaned the coastal area of said barangay and strengthened their goals by informing the residents on proper waste disposal.

“This only shows that student leaders of today are more on action then words”, said one of the NSU faculty who requested not to be named.

The congress was aimed to inculcate in the student leaders mind the importance of a balanced environment to mitigate the effects of climate change. (raarcenal-ojt/PIA8 Biliran)
