NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) – The idea of planting ornamental plants in the highways in Biliran province came no less than from the top official of the provincial environment office in Biliran province during the Kapihan sa PIA forum over Radyo Natin-Naval.

“Planting of ornamental plants along the national highways is a plus factor in the tourism industry of Biliran province”, Mario L. Tubania, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) said.

Tubania said the planting of ornamental plants along the national highways of the province will surely attract tourists to come and visit the province since this will add more natural attractions to the different tourism destinations of the province.

He also informed of the “big potential” of the tourism industry in the province of Biliran as per his observation in his first few days as the new OIC PENRO of DENR-Biliran.

He further informed that he will coordinate with the local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations and peoiple’s organizations in the province relative to the implementation of planting of ornamental plants along the highways in Biliran province.

The planting of ornamental plants along the highways in Biliran province is one of his priority projects being the new OIC PENRO in Biliran province, he added. # (PIA 8 Biliran)
