NAVAL, Biliran – Authorities have scored big as they hit two birds in a row with the arrest on Tuesday, May 27 this town, of a known alleged shabu pusher in Naval and a most wanted person in West Samar town.

The joint operation of the regional operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 8 and the Naval police force were able to arrest Brian Bernard P. Zamora in a buy-bust operation based on a police spot report of the Naval police station.

The PDEA operatives were led by SO2 Frederick Ocana and PNP-Naval was led by PCInsp. Renencio L. Raquipo.

Zamora was arrested at around 11:15 in the evening on May 27, 2014 in Barangay P.I. Garcia together with Frankly S. Mades, Ryan D. Topacio, Natanel P. Toleroso and Jose M. Tambis.

Seized during the said operation based on the PDEA certificate of inventory were the following: one (1) small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu; one (1) piece five hundred peso bill and one (1) piece one thousand peso bill as marked money; one (1) big heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu recovered in the possession of the suspect Brian Zamora; one (1) unit black My Phone cellular phone; one (1) unit diamond digital weighing scale model 500 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Zamora and his companion are presently detained in the lock-up cell of the Naval police station for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12 of Article II of R.A. 9165.

It was learned that Zamora was also arrested on July 5, 2012 by the joint elements of the Special Operation Team (SOT) of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Region 8, at his residence in Caneja St., Barangay P.I. Garcia, Naval, Biliran for illegal possession of firearms where various sizes of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and other drug paraphernalia were seized incidental to the arrest.

Meanwhile, a certain Gil Crisostomo was also arrested by the joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of West Samar and Biliran provinces and the personnel of PNP-Naval in Sitio Barantayan, Barangay Villaconsuelo, Naval, Biliran.

Crisostomo has a standing warrant of arrest order for the crime of murder and is the number one most wanted person of Tarangnan town in West Samar. Items confiscated in the possession of Crisostomo during the arrest were two (2) pieces marble gun.

He was then transported to Tarangnan, West Samar by the CIDG-West Samar for proper disposition of his case. (PIA 8 Biliran)
