A certain Ramon Espina, Jr. was arrested by the policeman on-duty at the Naval police station after he was found out carrying two small heat sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
Espina was arrested at around 11:20 in the evening of May 30,2014 by PO3 Alex D. Carba when he was about to deliver pieces of bread put in a plastic bag where the suspected shabu put in small and thin plastic container inserted in a bun of bread was discovered.
The bread with shabu was intended for Brian Bernard Zamora and his four other companions who were inside the lock up cell of the Naval police station.
Zamora and his four other companions were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted jointly by the operatives of the PDEA and PNP-Naval on May 27, 2014. Other items seized from Espina were one unit Cherry Mobile cellular phone, one piece aluminum foil, one fifty peso bill, and one unit motorcycle Yamaha Sniper. The arrest was based on plain view doctrine and the suspect was charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165.
The suspect who claimed he was innocent about the pieces of shabu found in the bread he brought was detained in the lock up cell of the Naval police station. – BiliranIsland.com
