No classes Tuesday (July 15) in several areas of Biliran due to Tropical Storm Glenda (Rammasun).

According to Typhoon2000, RAMMASUN (GLENDA) has rapidly strengthened into a Typhoon while moving west-southwestward during the past 6 hours…endangers Bicol Region and Northern Samar. The potential landfall area of this storm shall be over Albay-Southern Camarines Sur on Tuesday afternoon, July 15.

DepEd guidelines, classes are automatically suspended for the following levels and storm signals:

Signal No. 1 – preschool

Signal No. 2 – preschool, elementary and high school

Signal No. 3 – all levels (preschool, elementary, high school and college, including graduate school)

According to Naval Vice Mayor Villordon, Automatic suspension of elementary school classes if Signal No. 1. Mayor will come in if there is no storm signal from Pagasa. The power of the Mayor to suspend classes applies only to a situation where there is no warning but there is imminent danger.
