The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the Province of Biliran recommended temporary suspension of the drilling and flow test operations in Sitio Pulang Yuta Brgy. Cabibihan, Caibiran of the Biliran Geothermal Inc. (BGI), based on the recommendation of the Provincial Monitoring Committee.
The Biliran Provincial Government in its statement to BilranIsland.com re BGI. “We welcome development, but we will not also compromise the safety and health of the Biliranons.”
BGI has not determined as of this time the type of gas that caused the collapse of its workers.
