Update: Electricity returned to Biliran at 1:20 AM Aug. 28, 2014

At 7:45 PM August 27, 2014, the entire area coverage of Biliran Electric Cooperative (BILECO), Inc. experienced a power outage due to a sustained line fault in the Tunga Feeder. Restoration effort by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is now ongoing.

No advice yet from NGCP on what time power will be restored.

NGCP MEDIA ADVISORY. NGCP is working to restore transmission services to LEYECO V(Sambulawan Substation); BILECO, LEYECO III(Tunga and Alang-Alang Substations) and DORELCO(Tolosa & Javier Substations) Reports indicate the 69kV Tunga feeder tripped at 7:54 PM.
