Parts of Biliran Island may expect power interruptions from Thursday to Saturday due to upgrade and repair work on power facilities, the provincial government said.

On Thursday, the provincial government said a power interruption of up to five hours in Barangay Pili in Almeria town, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This is due to the construction of a secondary line to upgrade the service dropwires there, it said.

On Friday, a power interruption of up to four hours is expected in Upper Looc in Almeria going to Mapuyo, Kawayan, from 1 to 5 p.m.

This is due to the installation of a tapping point in Barangay Tabunan in Kawayan town for the National Electrification Administration’s sitio electrification program.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, a power interruption of up to eight hours is expected in Barangay Pinamihagan in Culaba town going to Barangay Villa Cornejo in Kawayan.

Biliran said the interruption will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to the replacement of structures in Barangays Habuhab and San Roque in Culaba town. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
