The chief security officer of former Biliran Congressman Glenn Chong was acquitted by the court today, September 25, 2014, for the charge of murder.

Agustin Manlangit was cleared by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 16 based in Naval, Biliran in a decision promulgated by Judge Bienvenido M. Montalla, presiding judge of RTC Branch 16.Also acquitted with Manlangit is Ceferino Montes.
In criminal case no. N-2833 re: People of the Philippines vs Agustin Manlangit and Ceferino Montes, accused were charged of murder for the death of one Charles J. Sinangote,Jr. on March 7, 2005 that happened at around 7:30 in the evening somewhere in Barangay Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.
The court acquitted the accused based on reasonable doubt and directed the provincial jail warden of the Biliran provincial jail to release Agustin Manlangit and Ceferino Montes from their custody unless there are legal causes that may warrant their further detention.
Manlangit, also a former police officer and is known to many as Nonoy, just expressed words of thank in an interview today with BI staff, for his acquittal after having been detained for almost three years in the Biliran provincial jail.
