NAVAL, Biliran – The fire that broke out in Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran on Thursday dawn (March 17) was declared under control by the Naval fire department.
The fire began around 12:15 a.m., The fire department received the call for help at 12:35 a.m. and firefighters put it out at 2:00 a.m..

According to the initial investigation, the fire started in the house of Selvino Sison, at the wood-fueled stove in the kitchen, according to Naval Fire Inspector Primilloso.
The five houses razed in Calumpang fire are owned by Nimong Sison, Selvino Sison, Villardo Sison, Precila Antor and Atty. Linda Solite.
Fire trucks from Almeria, Biliran, Kawayan, Cabucgayan and private fire truck owned by Mr. Alex Ang aided the Naval Fire Station in responding to the fire incident.
No one was injured during the incident.
With the celebration of the Fire Prevention Month this March, Naval Fire inspector, Primitibo Tomilloso urged the public to be always cautious to avoid fire accidents.
The fire in Brgy. Calumpang was the first recorded incident in Naval for this month.- BiliranIsland.com
