NAVAL, Biliran – The Biliran Parole and Probation Office (PPO) , one of the field offices of the Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) in Eastern Visayas initiated a Reformation Run around Naval town on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at five o’clock in the morning.

A zumba exercise was conducted to warm up the participants prior to the start of the run.

The activity had two categories, the three-kilometer run and the five kilometer run.

Students from the different schools in Naval and in some municipalities to include the Naval State University (NSU), officials and employees of the local government units (LGU)–Naval, provincial government of Biliran and the national government agencies, private organizations and other health conscious groups and individuals comprise the more than 300 participants of the run.

The most number of participants came from the NSU, LGU-Naval and the Biliran District Engineering Office (BDEO).

The Biliran PPO through Jeannette Batic-Avorque, OIC Provincial Director, thanked their major donors and sponsors for the succes of the reformation run in Biliran province.

The first three fastest runners in the two-kilometer and five-kilometer categories received a medal and cash prize. Other participants were given a finisher’s certificate.

The reformation run which is centered on the theme “Takbo Ko, Pagbabago Mo” is a simultaneous regionwide fund-raising campaign which highlights the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Parole and Probation Administration on July 24, 2016.

The activity seeks to improve the economic condition of the PPA clients by providing them with various livelihood projects aimed to promote their correction and rehabilitation. (fj/PIA Biliran)
