CAIBIRAN, Biliran (UPDATED) – Mayor Eulalio “Laloy” Maderazo of Caibiran, Biliran was suspended for 9 months by the Ombudsman for purchasing P284,000 worth of medicines without public bidding.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)- Biliran served on Wednesday, August 17, the nine-month suspension order on Caibiran Mayor Eulalio Maderazo.
Municipal Treasurer Loreto Serdeña, Jr. and Accounting Department officer- in-charge Rodolfo Baguna were also included in the charge for allegedly conspiring with the mayor to favor supplier Andrea Medi Center. Both have retired this July, before the suspension order came out.
Vice-Mayor Etet Go is now acting mayor while Councilor Rhodesa Delante is acting vice-mayor.
