“It is a great opportunity to host the tournament as it will help us empower not just our province but also our region about the beauty and necessity of debating,” Joedel Peñaranda, ALDS adviser emphasized.

Various preparations were undertaken for the regional tournament. “We are doing our best for the final preparation for the said tournament. We already sent invitation letters to the different secondary and tertiary schools in the region, “ Mr. Peñaranda added.

EVDC is a biannual debate tournament being held in Eastern Visayas and has two major formats namely the Asian and British Parliamentary which primarily aims to hone the critical and public speaking skills of students in Eastern Visayas.

Further, the 3rd EVBrit is endorsed by Region 8 Commission on Higher Education and Department of Education.

“We are inviting everyone to join the EVDC where we enhance our skills in speaking, boost our self-confidence and most especially develop our critical thinking and analysis about the different issues in the society,” Ms. Gabriella Echevarria, EVDU President underscored.
