NAVAL, Biliran – Nestor Macorol, the managing steward of Sambawan Island Resort, has addressed the issue regarding the alleged harassment and invasion of privacy of a lone female guest by their staff.
The guest’s cell phone allegedly buzzed with incoming messages right after her travel from the said resort. She purportedly wrote her contact number in the visitor’s logbook. She blocked and ignored the “harassment” but reported the event when unknown numbers kept on texting and calling.
Nestor Macorol had begun checking into the event. He claimed that the guest did not write her number in the visitor’s logbook dated October 26, 2017. Therefore the harassment could not have started from their staff. He also said that a certain “Carlo Cruz” is damaging their resort by pretending to be one of their staff. He also wished that the guest will rectify the situation as her number was not in the logbook.
Meanwhile, Mayor Uldarico “Elding” Macorol of Maripipi delved deeper into the event. One of the numbers used was traced to a certain Arnold Parena, a resident of Naga, Cebu. He promised to trace the owners of the remaining numbers who allegedly “harassed” a guest of Sambawan. He hopes that this issue will not be repeated in the future.
The LGU Maripipi and the Sambawan Island Resort wish to inform the public that this is an isolated event. The privacy and the safety of their guests are always their priority. -BiliranIsland.com
