MANILA – A magnitude 4 earthquake struck off Biliran Island in the central Philippines on Tuesday, Phivolcs said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, Phivolcs said, adding aftershocks were not expected.

The quake struck at 3:04 p.m., 12 kilometers southwest of Kawayan town. It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 2 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.

Intensity IV was felt in the towns of Kawayan and Naval in Biliran while Intensity III was felt in Palanas town, Masbate.

Intensity II was recorded in the cities of Calbayog, Bogo and Ormoc while Intensity I was felt in the cities of Masbate and Borongan and in Palo town, Leyte.
