CAIBIRAN, Biliran – 34 housing units were awarded on February 22 to recipient households of Sitios Macalpi, Cansiso and Pulang Yuta in Brgy. Cabibihan, Caibiran, Biliran.

The awarding of resettlement houses was graced by Marcelino P. Escalada, Jr., General Manager of National Housing Authority, Cong. Rogelio J. Espina, Gov. Gerry Boy Espina and Caibiran Mayor Eulalio Maderazo.

Vista Del Mar, located in Brgy. Cabibihan, is one of the Yolanda Permanent Housing Projects (YPHP) of NHA. The 4, 039 hectares housing project, aims to generate a total of 522 residential units to benefit affected families of Super Typhoon Yolanda in Caibiran, Biliran.
The houses, land acquisition and development are funded and constructed by NHA.

At present, the housing project has completed 34 housing units, concrete roads, path walks, underground drainage, power and water utilities, and spaces for community facilities. While the remaining 488 housing units are now in various stages.

To date, of the 522 families endorsed by the LGU, a total of 34 families were prioritized for the awarding as they were again displaced and occupying in the tent city in Brgy. Macalpi due to the devastation brought by Typhoon Urduja last December 2017.

The remaining 488 beneficiarues for the 488 houses are still being processed and validated by the LGU prior to submission to NHA for the pre-qualification process.

The housing units generated by NHA in Vista Del Mar are row house bungalow type with a floor area of 26 sq.m. Its cost is estimated at Php 290, 000.00 per house and lot package.
