NAVAL, Biliran — A total of 200 existing and potential micro entrepreneurs from Brgy. Caucab in Almeria and Brgy. Inasuyan in Kawayan in this province have recently availed of the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through its Negosyo Centers in partnership with their respective barangays.

Upon availment of the program, DTI-Biliran under OIC Provincial Director Faustino Gayas Jr., immediately provided the potential micro entrepreneurs with entrepreneurial development training particularly on entrepreneurial mind-setting.

A survey among the participant-entrepreneurs was conducted to determine their needed interventions as basis for future engagement of the Negosyo Centers in their areas.

Consequently, more local entrepreneurs signified to avail of the Small Business Corporation’s (SBC) Pondo sa Pagbabago at Pag-Asenso (P3) Micro Financing, DTI Business Name Registration, and One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) Next Gen packaging and labelling.

The NSB, which aims to bring government services closer to the people, particularly the basic services of Negosyo Center such as business information and advocacy, business registration services and business advisory services, was sealed with the signing of the Memorandum of Commitment.

Dr. Gayas signed in behalf of DTI-Biliran, Brgy. Caucab was represented by its Brgy. Captain Willy Cabuquin while Brgy. Inasuyan was represented by Brgy. Captain Bertilo Alcober.

The memorandum signing was also witnessed by the respective barangay councils and Negosyo Center Business Counselors.

DTI-Biliran is set to conduct similar activities as its commitment to deliver 21 NSB in the entire province of Biliran this year. (LDL/MLT/DTI-Biliran /PIA-8, Biliran)
