5 minors rescued from online sex trafficking, live-in partners nabbed in Naval

NAVAL, Biliran – Members of Women and Children Protection Center-Visayas Field Unit (WCPC-VFU), Biliran Provincial Police and Naval Police conducted an entrapment operation at DMEI WAD Mall at around  11:00 a.m. today, August 6, 2019.

The minors include an 8- month old baby, a 2-years old toddler, two 14- year-olds, and a 17-years old.

The involved live-in partners were also nabbed.

The suspect was traced to have checked in at DMEI Wad Mall in Brgy. Smo. Rosario, Naval, Biliran. 

According to Colonel  Romeo P. Perigo, Chief of WCPC-VFU, the suspects violated Sections 4A and E of RA 9028 as expanded by  RA 10364 in relation to  Sec. 6 of RA  10175.

He added the suspects were on a transaction with a police decoy but they suspects were under surveillance since June this year.

A $90 dollars (Php 4,500) amount was offered by the transacting foreigner as payment for said transaction alone.

The police did not identify the parents-suspects to protect the identity of their children.

Detained now at the Naval Police are the parents of the baby. -BiliranIsland.com
