LGBT member apprehended in buy bust

Naval, Biliran — An LGBT member who is a newly identified drug personality of this town was arrested by composite team from Station Drug Enforcement Team here and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Biliran Province Police Office during a buy bust operation about 7:20 in the evening tonight (Oct 17) along V & C compound Brgy. Sto Niño here.

PDEU Chief Police Romeo Sudario Jr., identified the suspect as Jenelyn Pait y Collera, 22, an LGBT member and a single mother, jobless, a resident of Brgy. Palarao, Leyte, Leyte.

Recovered from her possession was 1 sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by a poseur buyer cop in the amount of P500.

During body search conducted by a policewoman to the suspect in front of DOJ Representative Leonard Javinez, Punong Barangay Jacqueline Escala, and media personality Anthony Marlon Mecaral, the searching policewoman also recovered 2 more sachets containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu estimated to worth P1000.

Further body search against the suspect also resulted to the recovery of a P500 bill bearing serial number MT 385550 which is the marked money used in the buy bust operation.

The suspect when interviewed denied owning the illegal items recovered from her saying she was just in the area to visit a female friend.

Charges of Violation of Sec 5 (Selling illegal drugs) and Sec 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) of Art II of RA 9165 is being readied by the arresting officers against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked up cell of Naval PNP. – BiliranIsland.com
