NAVAL, Biliran – Joint forces of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Biliran Province Provincial Police Office and the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the local police here arrested a drug surrenderee during a buy bust conducted about 5:10 in the afternoon on Friday (Nov. 15) at Sitio Basak Brgy. Antipolo, here.

PDEU Chief Police Lt. Vic Viros , identified the suspect as Mario Tol y Bernadas, 50, a resident of Poblacion Kawayan, Biliran.

The arrest of the suspect came after the PDEU and the SDET received information about the activity of the suspect that he was allegedly returning back into the selling of illegal drugs. The two police anti-drug teams immediately conducted surveillance to the suspect for about a month until they found the information as positive that resulted to the buy bust operation launch to him.

Recovered from the suspect was 1 sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by a poseur buyer cop for P500. During body search in front of Barnagay Officials and media the searching policemen recovered two more plastic sachets containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu estimated to worth P1000. Further body resulted to the recovery of P500 bill with serial number AB604517 which was used as marked money for the buy bust operation and 1 unit cellular phone and one disposable lighter along with a matchbox.

The suspect denied owning the illegal substance recovered in his possession saying he has long disengaged himself to drugs. He however, admitted that he was drunk during his arrest.

Charges of Violation of Sec 5 (selling) and Sec 11 (possession) is being readied by the arresting police to the suspect who is presently detained at the locked up cell of Naval Police Station.
