Naval, Biliran — Operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Biliran Province Police Office and the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) of the local police here apprehended a drug surrenderee during a buy bust operation about 11:30 in the morning today (Nov. 25) at Brgy. P.I Garcia here.

PDEU chief Police Captain Romeo Q. Sudario identified the suspect as Oliver Corpin y Loreto a.k.a. “Waway”, 36, married, a habal-habal driver and a resident of Sitio Bliss, Brgy Calumpang, Naval, Biliran. The suspect surrendered during the onset of PNP Oplan Tokhang in Cabucgayan Municipal Police Station.

PDEU operatives told media that an informant prompts them to monitor the activity of the suspect after he allegedly went back into the selling of illegal drugs. Because of this information they conducted a survey with the suspect that yield positive results that the suspect indeed was back in selling the illegal drugs that resulted to his arrest after a negotiation to buy a sachet of shabu was consummated this morning. The PDEU disclosed that most of the customers of the suspect are motorcycle drivers and engine mechanics and of this municipality.

Recovered from his possession was sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu worth P500 procured by a poseur buyer cop. During body search two more sachets containing the same white crystalline substance was recovered by the searching cop estimated to have a street value of P1000. Also recovered from the suspect was the P500.00 bill with serial number JT937334 which was marked money used in the operation and 3 pieces disposable plastic lighter.

The suspect denied owning the illegal evidences recovered from him saying he does not know where this came from.

Charges of Violations of Sec 5 (selling illegal drugs) and Sec 11 (possession of illegal drugs) of Art II of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs is being readied by the arresting officers against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the locked up cell at Naval, Biliran Police Station. –
