Biliran, Biliran – A drug surrenderee yield suspected shabu during a buy bust operation about 12:30 in the afternoon today (January 20) at Brgy. San Roque here.
Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Chief of Biliran Province Police Office Police Lt. Vic Viros identified the suspect as Mart Belleza y Palicte, 38, with live-in partner, jobless and a resident of the said barangay.
Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by a poseur buyer cop in the amount of P500. During body search the searching cop recovered from his pocket a folded white paper that when opened contained three sachets containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated street value of P1500. While continuing body search also resulted to the recovery of P500 bill bearing serial number BZ752670 which is marked money used in the buy bust operation.
The suspect denied owning the illegal evidences recovered from his possession saying he is already change ways after surrendering in Oplan Tokhang in 2016.
But the police said they conducted surveillance against the activity of the suspect after receiving reports that he went back into selling the illegal drugs after surrendering to Oplan Tokhang. The police said that after nearly a month of monitoring the immediately conducted a buy bust operation resulting to his arrest after their monitoring produce positive result that the suspect is indeed back to selling the illegal drugs.
Charges of Violation of Sec. 5 (Selling illegal drugs) and Sec 11 (Possession of illegal drugs) of Art. II of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 is being readied by the arresting officers to the suspect who is temporarily languishing at the detention cell of the Biliran Police Station. – BiliranIsland.com
