BILIRAN, Biliran – A drug surrenderee who operates a billiard hall was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of Biliran Province Police Office and the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) of this town around 2:48 p.m. of Feb 8 at Sitio Pongkay, Brgy. San Isidro here.

BPPO PDEU Chief Police Lt. Vic Viros identified the suspect as Dennis Magno y Madulid, a.k.a. Angga, 40, married, self- employed and a resident of the said place.

Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by a poseur buyer cop for P500. During body search, the cops recovered another sachet containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu also. Further search also resulted in the recovery of the P500 bill with serial number P627283, which was the marked money used for the operation.

The suspect denied owning the evidences recovered from his possession, saying he has stopped his illegal drugs activity after he surrendered to the Oplan Tokhang in 2016.

But the police said that he was arrested based on the information of an informant, who told the local police that he returned to selling the illegal drugs and most of his customers are habal-habal drivers.

Charges of Violation of Sec. 5 (Selling illegal drugs) and Sec. 11 (Possession of illegal drugs) of Art. II of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002, is being readied by PDEA against the suspect who is temporarily languishing at the lock-up cell of Biliran PNP here. –
