Naval, Biliran – Father Kenneth Bernard Pius Hendricks, a 78 year old Catholic priest who served the Diocese of Naval for 37 years was released from prison upon paying bail.
Fr. Pius was arrested on December 5, 2018 by Philippine and American Law enforcement officers, following the confession of a 12 year old acolyte who was allegedly sexually abused by the said priest.
During his arraignment at the Regional Trial Court 16 in Naval, Biliran Province, he pleaded not guilty of the heinous crimes charged
against him.
He was formally charged with five accounts of Acts of Lasciviousness in relation to Section 5(a) of RA 7610. He was detained in Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – Naval (BJMP Naval).
