Almeria, Biliran— A minor driving without license a single motorcycle is presently recuperating from his injuries at the Biliran Provincial Hospital after a head on collision with another single motorcycle driven by a minor who has no driver’s license also about 9:10 in the evening last night (Nov 5) along the National Highway of Brgy. Matanggo here.

Almeria COP Police Lt. Jeff Allan Castila, identified the injured minor as 17 yr old, male and his back rider John Paul Malagsik, 25, with live-in partner, both residents of Brgy. Tabunan here. While the driver of the other single motorcycle was identified as 16 yrs. old, male, single, a resident of Brgy. Poblacion of this municipality. The two drivers are both driving without drivers’ license.

Investigation conducted by the local police disclosed that vehicle the motorcycle driven by the 17 yr old minor a Honda Beat 125 cc, color blue and black, with temporary Plate Number 0801-0263995 departed from Naval, Biliran bound to Brgy Tabunan, Almeria, Biliran and was traversing along the National Highway when the incident happened.

Case investigator Police Staff Sergeant Marvyn B Demate, told media that upon reaching Brgy. Matanggo, the single motorcycle driven by the 16 yr old minor a Suzuki Raider 110cc Colour Blue and Black, with Plate No. 8275-HB traversing the opposite lane going coming from Kawayan, Biliran and bound to Brgy Poblacion, Almeria swerved into the lane where the motorcycle driven by the 17 yr old was traversing and in the process resulted to a head on collision. Upon impact Sergeant Demate said that the 17 yr old driver and his back rider fell into the pavement and sustained injuries at the different parts of their bodies while the 16 yr driver fled away into unknown direction and was heard crying thoroughly.

A certain Kyle Malabat, who happened to be in the area, told the police about the identity of the crying fleeing minor driver.

The two injured person were immediately brought by ambulance from the Rural Health Unit of Almeria to Biliran Provincial Hospital in Naval town for treatment and the two are still recuperating for their injuries in the said hospital as of press time.
