Cabucgayan, Biliran— A newly identified drug peddler who is in PDEA’s priority list yielded suspected shabu during a buy bust operation conducted by PDEA agents and operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police about 2:55 in the afternoon of Monday (Nov. 09) in Brgy. Magbangon here.
Cabucgayan Chief of Police Lt. Teofilo Gervacio III identified the suspect as Randel Alibio, 36, with live-in partner, jobless, and resident of Brgy. Balaquid here.
Recovered from his possession was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, procured by an agent in the amount of P1000.
During body search in front of Barangay Officials, representative from the DOJ and media, the searching cop recovered from inside the pocket of the suspect cash money in different denominations and immediately opened and displayed as evidence the 7 pcs. P20 bills.
When the searching cop opened the folded P1000, two more sachets containing the same white substance suspected to be shabu, estimated to be worth P2000, fell from the cash money that bears serial number NY123062, which was a marked money used in the operation.
The suspect during the interview denied owning the illegal items recovered from him, saying he was only in the area to get a health certificate from the Rural Health Unit as he is going to travel. He also denied owning the P1000 cash reportedly the marked money used in the operation. He admitted owning the 6 pcs. P20 bills.
Charges of violation of RA 9165, the comprehensive law against illegal drugs, is being readied by the arresting authorities against the suspect, who is temporarily languishing at the detention cell of Cabucgayan Municipal Police Station. – BiliranIsland.com
