Naval, Biliran— Five sachets containingwhite crystalline substance suspected to be shabu were recovered by operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the local police and agents from BiliranField Office of PDEA during a buy bust about 9:50 in the morning on Thursday (Nov. 12) at Brgy Agpangi here.

Naval Chief of Police Major Michael John Astorga identified the suspect as Jay Sabinay, 37, a.k.a “JayAdik”, single, fish vendor, and a resident of the said place.

Recovered from his possession was a sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to beshabu procured by an operative in the amount of P1000.

During body search in front barangay officials, representative from the DOJ and media the searching policemen recovered from his pocket a color brown purse that when it was opened yield cash money in different denominations paraphernalia in packing shabu and later four more sachets containing the same white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu estimated to worth P4000.

One of the cash money found in the purse was a P1000 bill that bears serial number JM360759, which was the marked money used in the operation.

The suspect during the interview denied owning the illegal evidence recovered by the police from him. He only admitted owning the small bills of P20 and P50 bills but denied owning the P1000 bill and the color brown coin purse.

Charges of violation of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against Illegal Drugs of 2002 is being readied bythe arresting authorities against the suspect who is temporarily languishing atthe detention cell of Naval Municipal Police Station. – BiliranIsland.com
