Naval, Biliran – The increase in power rates was due to the rise in the generation charge.
The clarification was made by Engr. Gerardo N. Oledan, General Manager of Biliran Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BILECO) to Biliran Island.
The Generation Charge refers to that cost of power generated and sold to the distribution utility by the National Power Corporation (NPC) as well as the Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
The current rates for the month of August 2021 are the following:
Residential Class:
is Php 13.3064 /kWh
Low Voltages Class:
Commercial, Public Building & Street Light
Php 11.8197 /kWh
