Naval, Biliran— Assorted contraband were recovered by authorities inside the Provincial Jail during an “Oplan Galugad” conducted by the joint forces of PNP and PDEA from 6: 30-8:30 in the morning yesterday Wednesday (Sept. 1) at Detention Facility at Biliran Provincial Jail, Capitol Ground, Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.
Among those that we recovered were nine pcs of metal spoons, four pcs plastic lighters, twelve pcs assorted pens, three pcs plastic shaves/razors, one belt, one extension wire, three assorted headsets, four assorted cellular phones, two pcs SD Cards, assorted Small Town Lottery documents, one rechargeable flashlight, dried tobacco Leaves and smoke paraphernalia, six plastic toothbrush and assorted pointed objects. The search however for illegal drugs inside the jail was futile because none of it was found even traces of it was not found also.
Naval COP Police Major Michael John Astorga, said that joining them in the search are from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Major Chamberlane Ludevise, First Biliran Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Lt John Eriz Salomon, and PDEA Biliran Field Unit led by Intelligence Agent 5 Eduardo Macabenta IV and the Biliran Provincial Jail.
This is the first “Oplan Galugad” conducted at the Provincial Jail since the pandemic which is done at least twice a year to ensure that all jails will be free from illegal contrabands.
The confiscated contrabands were brought to Naval MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
