Culaba, Biliran— The lifeless body of one of the fishermen reported missing by his family in the Province of Biliran after the onslaught of Typhoon Jolina on Tuesday was retrieved by rescue personnel about 8: 00 in the morning today (Sept 9) at the seawaters in Brgy. San Roque, Culaba, Biliran.

The victim was identified as Elvis Catienza y Raagas, 37, married, fisherman, a resident of Brgy. Habuhab, Culaba, Biliran.

Report said that rescue personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council were scouring the seawaters of the municipality in their continuing effort to conduct search and retrieval operations to the last reported missing person of the municipality. It was learned that there were two fishermen reported missing after the onslaught of Typhoon Jolina which included his cousins Federico Catienza, 56, married, fisherman, A resident of Brgy. Looc, Culaba, Biliran. Federico was rescued by a fishing boat in Daram, Samar leaving the victim as the lone missing person.

But this morning after a search and retrieval operation of rescue personnel they found a cadaver floating at the seawaters. The rescuers brought the victim’s cadaver, who is on the stage of decomposition to the shore for identification. At 8: 00 in the morning today a relative of the victim came to the Brgy. San Roque, and identified the cadaver as that of Elvis Catienza.

The MDDRMO personnel immediately brought the cadaver of the victim to the local cemetery for interment. – BiliranIsland.com
