Kawayan, Biliran— An estimated P6000 worth of suspected shabu estimated to weight .09 gram was recovered from a newly identified drug dealer during a buy bust operation conducted by joint operatives from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Biliran Provincial Police Office and the local Station Drug Enforcement Team about 9:55 in the evening on Friday (Oct 29) in Brgy. Inasuyan, Kawayan, Biliran.

Kawayan, Biliran COP Police Lt. Hilario Rampano III identified the suspect as Nicholson Cañete, 21, single, Filipino, jobless, and a resident of Brgy. Inasuyan, Kawayan, Billran. The police tagged the suspect in their drug watch as a Street Level Individual.

The operatives that wear body cameras during the operation recovered from the possession of the suspect was one sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu procured by an operative in the amount of P1000. During body search in front of Barangay Officials together with Representatives from the DOJ and Media the searching cop recovered from the pocket of the short pants of the pocket one pc P500 bill and a plastic container of a vapor rub that one opened yielded three more sachets containing the same white crystalline substances suspected to be shabu estimated to weight .09 gram with an estimate value of P6000. The recovered P500 bill on the other hand bears serial number FB647126 which is court subscribed money to be used for the buy bust operation.

The suspect who was crying hard during his arrest denied owning the illegal evidence that the police recovered from his possession.

Charges of violations of RA 9165 the Comprehensive Law against illegal drugs of 2002 are being readied against the suspect who is temporarily detained at the Kawayan Municipal Police Station. –
